LED Lighting Solutions
There is no such thing as a single solution for all applications each is taken on its own merits to avoid costly mistakes.
The LED lighting solutions below have been tried and tested within projects around the World in real applications and environments.

EDGE2EDGE
Edge-Lit LED technology. This setup is particularly clever because it uses physics—specifically internal reflection and light diffusion—to turn a thin piece of plastic into a glowing light source.
Here is a breakdown of how this system works and why it remains a popular choice for backlighting.
How Edge2Edge Works
Unlike traditional backlighting where LEDs sit behind a panel and shine forward (often creating “hot spots”), the Edge2Edge system uses a side-firing method:
- Edge Integration: LEDs are mounted on the thin perimeter of the acrylic.
- Total Internal Reflection: The light travels sideways through the acrylic.
- The Matrix: The “laser etched grooves” or “dot matrix” mentioned in your text act as tiny prisms. When the light hits these etches, it is redirected 90 degrees, pushing the light out through the front face of the panel.
Key Advantages
Feature | Benefit |
8-10mm Profile | Ideal for tight spaces where a traditional lightbox (often 50mm+) won’t fit. |
No Diffuser Needed | Because the dot matrix handles the light distribution, you can often place your graphic directly against the acrylic. |
Plug & Play | Low voltage (12V/24V) makes it safe for DIY installation without needing a specialized electrician for the final connections. |
Custom Shapes | Since it’s acrylic-based, it can be CNC-routed into letters or logos while maintaining even illumination. |
LADDERLITES
Ladderlites are a highly efficient, “plug-and-play” solution for large-scale backlighting. Their design—mimicking a rope ladder—is particularly clever because it solves the common problem of inconsistent spacing that often happens with standard LED tape.
Key Technical Specifications

Can be controlled by most common protocols
Why Ladderlites Stand Out
- Ease of Installation: Unlike traditional LED modules that require individual placement, these arrive pre-spaced. You simply fix the top, let them “roll down” like a ladder, and secure the bottom.
- Versatility: Because they are flexible like a rope ladder, they are ideal for curved surfaces (like pillars or rounded reception desks) where rigid panels would fail.
- Uniformity: The 180-degree domed lenses are a premium feature. Standard LEDs often have a 120-degree beam, which can cause “striping” if the light is too close to the fabric or acrylic; the 180-degree lens ensures a smooth, even glow.
- Professional Durability: An 80,000-hour rating is significantly higher than many consumer-grade LED strips, making them suitable for 24/7 commercial environments.
Application Tips
- Power Management: Since they run on DC24V, you’ll experience less voltage drop over long distances compared to 12V systems, ensuring the bottom of the ladder is just as bright as the top.
- Environment: The standard IP20 rating is perfect for indoor dry locations. If you are using these for an outdoor sign or in a damp area, be sure to specify the IP66 version.
